This sculpture was born in Pietrasanta, the place where Michelangelo once meticulously chose the only piece of Carrara marble for himself.
Here, in the Italian workshop, Dasha Namdakov's work has found a new dimension: for the first time, that special shining smoothness of form appeared, which was not there before.
"Elephant" with turquoise patina became one of the last works created in Italy. A new plastic appears in it — soft, fluid, almost weightless.
It is a work on the border between tangible texture and absolute purity, reflecting the transition between cycles in the master's work.
