A large-scale project about the ancient and medieval past of Siberia and the Far East has become a real Russian cultural brand, it was successfully held in Moscow, Vladivostok and Krasnoyarsk.
The new exhibition in Irkutsk features more than 40 striking archaeological artifacts from the country's largest museums. The central exhibits are the unique "Maltese venuses" – Paleolithic statuettes of women made by an ancient craftsman in the 21st millennium BC. twentieth century in the Irkutsk region, replenished the world fund of Paleolithic art. Today they are kept in the main collections of the country and for the first time in many years they will be shown in their homeland – in Irkutsk.
The contemporary art in the exhibition is represented by sculptures of the famous Dasha Namdakov, which seem to be charged with the creative energy of antiquity.
The exhibition will feature tactile copies of exhibits with typhoid commentary and Braille labels. The project will include an educational program for children and adults.
