Dashi Namdakov’s exhibition has opened at Noôdome
A popular sculptor, exhibiting this time at the Noôdome space in the Romanov Dvor business center, presented his explorations in refined Eastern calligraphy.
The exhibition by Dashi Namdakov, which opened at Noôdome on Thursday, March 5, filled this private club-like venue with intimate works that accompany his main and most renowned line—metal sculptures. On the walls, graphic works from Namdakov’s “Ink” series are on display.
The exhibition of Dashi Namdakov, which opened at Noôdome on Thursday, March 5, filled this private club space with the artist’s камерные (intimate) works that accompany his main and most well-known line—metal sculpture. On the walls, visitors can see graphic works from Namdakov’s Ink series.
These graphic pieces reflect the artist’s long-standing interest in Chinese cultural traditions. “This is a living connection with the East and ancient writing practices, where the line serves as a carrier of energy and meaning,” note the exhibition organizers.
These works also embody Namdakov’s experience working in China. His encounter with Eastern art, along with his engagement with ink and the 2,000-year tradition of rice paper, merges with an academic drawing school. The result is a rare synthesis of culture, time, and the artist’s unique visual language.
According to the organizers, “Dashi’s art is distinguished by jeweler-like precision and an exceptional sense of restraint. His works do not require loud statements; instead, they initiate a deep process of contemplation. What matters in them is the pause, the space between lines, the balance between strength and silence.”
At the exhibition opening, guests were given a one-evening-only presentation of Namdakov’s sculpture park in the Noôdome amphitheater. In these works, the artist reinterprets steel—a material that has become one of the key elements of his practice in recent years.
